St Michael's Spirituality Statement
At St Michael’s C of E Primary School, our spirituality is rooted in the belief that our actions are mirrors of our Christian values. We nurture a school community where reflection, connectivity, growth, purpose, balance, and belonging are at the heart of everything we do.
We encourage every child and member of our community to engage in reflection, enabling them to understand themselves and their place in the world with honesty and humility. Through this self-awareness, we foster connectivity—a deep sense of relationship with God, each other, and the wider world, inspired by the examples of Saints Michael, Mary, and Joseph.
Our commitment to growth is both spiritual and personal, empowering children to develop resilience, courage, and a lifelong love of learning. We guide them to find purpose in their actions, inspired by our Christian faith to serve others with compassion and justice.
We strive for balance in our lives, nurturing well-being and harmony, while ensuring that every child feels a strong sense of belonging within our inclusive and caring church school community. Here, everyone is valued, supported, and inspired to flourish as unique individuals created in God’s image.
Spirituality at St Michael's
At St Michael's, we beleive that our actions show our Christian values every day. We live by kindness, courage and care, just like our saints Michael, Mary and Joseph.
What spirituality means to us:
- It's about thinking deeply about who we are and what we believe.
- It's about feeling connected to God, to each other and to the world around us.
- It's about growing as people - learning, being brave and helping others.
- It's about finding meaning and purpose in what we do.
- It's about feeling balanced - looking after our minds, bodies and hearts.
- It's about belonging, knowing that everyone is important and loved here.
Our school is a place where everyone is welcome and included. We care for each other and celebrate our differences. We learn together, pray together and support each other, helping everyone to flourish spiritually and grow in faith.
Through our worship, lessons and daily actions, we try to live out our Christian vision by being just, courageous and caring. We want to make a difference in our school and the wider world, showing love and respect to all.
