Mrs K French meets with the School Council representatives on a lunchtime. There are representatives from Year 2 to Year 6 and these are selected by their peers having produced a 'manifesto' to support their campaign!
Thanks to their hard work, we now have MUGA goals and basketball nets on the playground, an extended Trim Trail, some scooter pods to encourage more children to take to two wheels and, most recently, brand new waste and recycle bins for the classrooms to make separating the two easier!
Mrs Y Andrews, on behalf of the members of LouthXSports, was delighted to receive a cheque for £216.93 from the school. The cheque, which was raised as part of our Sport Relief activities, was presented by School Council member Evie Wood whose idea it was to support this local charity. Evie chose LouthXSports as it particularly close to her heart as she is both a committed BMX Racer, who regularly competes for Great Britain, and she is also a youth representative on the LouthXSports committee!
Mrs Andrews explained that LouthXSports were delighted with both the amount raised and to know they have the support of schools for this project. All money raised will go towards the purchase of equipment for the site and a long way in helping the group achieve the dream of an extreme park for the youth of Louth and district.
